Qualifications:
John Gibbons has over 15 years of classroom and private teaching experience. He has a doctorate in composition from the Unversity of Chicago, where he was recently honored with an Excellence in Teaching Award.
Location:
John teaches piano lessons in Berwyn, Illinois. Students enjoy playing 1904 Baldwin grand piano (recently restored by Renaissance Craftsmen Restoraion). A comprehensive music library is on hand to research the finer points of the music you’re studying.
Berwyn is located just west of Chicago, near Oak Park, Cicero, Brookfield, etc. We are easily accessible by car from the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290, Harlem exit) and the Stevenson (I-55, Harlem exit).
Sorry, John does not travel to private homes for individual lessons. However, if a school or institution can arrange several back-to-back lessons and provide the necessary piano, stereo, etc., an accommodation can be discussed.
